As part of the seismic strengthening and restoration, the opportunity will be taken to upgrade key amenities in the building to enhance functionality, accessibility and the overall visitor experience.

New amenities will include:

• New café and restoration of adjacent historic corridor
• Upgrade of the north wing baths
• Complete refit and refurbishment of the south wing galleries
• New fire egress from the rooftop viewing platform
• New lift access to the foyer mezzanine and Mud Bath area
• New conference room and additional storage
• Increased toilet facilities
• Enhanced mobility access
