Establishment of a building governance group

Meeting Update: Last week the Infrastructure and Environment Committee gave its support for the establishment of a building governance group to support the construction phase for Rotorua Museum Te Whare Taonga o Te Arawa.

The new Building Governance Group will be specifically for the construction aspects of the project and will include relevant staff – Gina Rangi (Executive Sponsor) and Thomas Collé, (General Manager Corporate Services) – and three independent, highly experienced construction specialists (Ray Cook, Mike Romanes and Will Smith).

Elected members also approved Committee chair Councillor Karen Barker being appointed to an observer role on the group to represent the committee’s interests.
